How often do you bake and have more than you can eat? Why not take some of those cookies, or half that cake to your neighbor. The family with children, or the widow/widower, or the working couple, would certainly appreciate your gift. You wouldn't be out anything, as the excess would get stale before you could eat it, anyway. People never forget kindnesses like this!
