The following was written by Audrey Hepburn, who
was asked to share "beauty tips."
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers
through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never
walk alone.
People, even more than things, have to be restored,
renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw
out anyone.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will
find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow
older, you will realize why you have two hands; one
for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.

...I love him...
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields...
and until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
--an Old Irish Prayer
(and one I placed at my Mother's grave)
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
Matthew 7:7-11 NIV
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Matthew 21:22 KJV
Guru's note: some prayers are answered by not giving what we ask for, but giving what we need.
This scripture was given to me by my Grandniece shortly after the death of my husband. She printed it on a card, placed it snugly in plastic, and attached a 'hanging' ribbon. It hangs in my shower to this day, and it is forever in my heart.
God has said "Never will I leave you; never will I foresake you"
Hebrews 13:5
thank you, Hannah ({{hugs}}), this has really helped me.
"This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."
Psalm 118:24
If they hearken and serve him, they complete their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasantness.
Job 36:11 RSV
Here is a prayer that is forever close to me; when I feel down and need a boost, or have doubts, I remember the Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi.
